Bead Loom Pattern Maker for Miyuki Delica beads

Beadalia is a seed bead loom pattern maker that runs online in the browser. The editor defaults to loom. Beads sit in straight columns and rows — the square layout a bead loom actually weaves — with the hole running horizontally so the weft can pass through. The stitch control labels this Loom / square. Delica cylinders are still slightly taller than they are wide; the grid is aligned, not drawn as coloured squares.

That alignment is the difference from the staggered stitches. Brick stitch offsets odd rows and sits hole-vertical. Peyote offsets odd columns. Same Delica beads; a different fabric.

Paint from the Miyuki Delica catalogue — 1,897 size-specific beads, 1,266 distinct colours, every colour in 11/0 — with DB codes, official names, glass type, finish and durability. Order by code. Swatches are synthetic renders from the hex, glass type and finish — not photographs.

On loom, thread length is warp plus weft. Other stitches use a single canvas-wide estimate (bead count × bead length × 1.8, plus tails). Loom does not. The materials panel shows the sum as metres, plus how many 1.5 m working lengths that is — not two separate warp/weft lines. Display is free; using those metres to price thread is Pro.

While you draw, the materials panel (free, no account) counts pieces per colour, converts them to grams for the Delica size in use (11/0 is 190 beads per gram), and shows the finished width and height of the grid. It also names a beading needle for that size — nr. 10–12 on 11/0 — and a recommended-thread line (nylon KO / One-G, or FireLine 6 lb). The needle and that thread string are a lookup, not a measurement of your grid.

Follow is the row-by-row reader, free, no account. On loom, each grid row is one Follow row. Inside the row, stitch steps walk the continuous-weft path: pick up and seat each bead between the warps (weft over the warps), then the lock pass back through the same beads under the warps so they stay put. Without that return pass the beads do not lock. Odd-width bands are fine — Follow does not refuse an odd loom count.

Beadalia serpentines by convention: even rows start in the first direction, odd rows reverse. Some weavers tie a new weft and always work left to right; Follow still shows the serpentine path. Advance a row with Enter, Space, tap or the arrows; a timer can auto-advance. Voice works too, on every plan, with no limit on how many commands you give it.

The word chart in Follow (and in the personal PDF) is grid order, left to right — a caption for the picture on screen. It is not the lock-pass order, and it is not a serpentine stitch-order chart. The lock pass runs back through the same beads the other way; the chart does not.

Loom / square is the aligned layout square stitch uses off the loom. The live Follow cursor is still the loom path. If you turn on the thread-track overlay, eight static square-stitch figures appear under a how-it-works disclosure — they do not follow the cursor. The off-loom sequence is also in the guide.
